Thank you very much for visiting our website. As you read this letter, please know that I have already been praying for you. Please let me share with you a little about myself.
My name is Louis Brock, Jr., I was born October 21, 1963 & I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. At the age of 8 years old I put my faith in Jesus Christ believing that he is the Son of God, believing that he walked on this earth just as the Bible records and believing that he was crucified on a cross and by the power of God raised from the dead on the third day just as He had said in Matthew chapter 20 verse 19.
Many times the pathway of life has brought difficult burdens to bear but God as He promised in Hebrews 13:5 has never forsaken me. In John 16:33, John quotes our saviors` words, ”These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer;
I have overcome the world.”
On Saturday March 15 1986, at the age of 22, my father, my uncle, and I were remodeling a building when an air compressor exploded and severed my left hand. My father drove me to the hospital and then went to pick up my wife who was working at her parent’s restaurant. As I lay in the emergency room alone except for the attending nurses, I was trying to grasp what had just happened. I remember thinking: No. No. This can’t be happening.
As the reality sunk in and I realized that I would not be waking up from a bad dream, I remember asking God to give me the strength to get through what I was about to endure.
After waking up from surgery that afternoon I felt an amazing peace about what had happened. God had answered my prayer and had already given me the assurance that He is in control and I would be able to accept and overcome this injury. My father and I had been working side by side a few minutes before the accident. One or both of us could have easily been killed that day. It sounded like a bomb and was heard several blocks away. Either of us could have been hurt much worse than just losing a hand. Praise the Lord it wasn’t my right hand. I was so thankful for what ”didn’t” happen that day that I knew I could deal with what did happen.
I have never been depressed, bitter, or regretful for anything that happened that day. Many years ago I had a short conversation with a psychologist from Ft. Worth, TX who told me that wasn’t possible. He explained to me that loosing a limb was emotionally much like experiencing a death although I noticed he wasn’t missing any limbs. It’s difficult for some to understand the peace that God can give. So many people in this world have no faith at all. In the days when Jesus walked on this earth there were few who believed in him and today is no different. Jesus said in Matthew 7: 14 that narrow is the road that leads to life and only a few will find it. Education is wonderful but there is no textbook that can explain the power of God and the peace that God gives. The Holy Bible, the inspired word of God, is the only book where we find truth about the wonders of God.
In Matthew 19: 26, Jesus said ”with God all things are possible.”
Have you ever put your faith in Jesus Christ believing that he is truly the Son Of God? If not, will you consider that today? Romans 10: 9 says ”That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” It is the most important decision of your life. Please don’t delay. It is a decision that will last for eternity. Will you be one of the few who finds that narrow road that leads to life that Jesus talked about?
If you put your faith in Jesus Christ today I would love to hear from you.
